A House of Hugz

Today over on the myStamp BOX blog the entire team is sharing projects featuring backgrounds or patterns.

For my card, I chose to use the cute little houses from the No Place Like Home stamp set.

I first cut a piece of canvas paper and stamped a variety of the little houses all over the canvas using Memento ink. Then I sewed the square using pink thread to a mat of brown cardstock.
Then I created my little house image and backed it with some pretty patterned Prima paper (say that 3 times fast... LOL).

I die cut my tag and stamped "Hugz" from the Whatever! stamp set. If you look closely, you can just barely see the "X's" all over the light greeny-blue background too. They're from the Rough Copy Alphabet set.

And to finish off my card, I stamped the remainder of the sentiment on the inside. The full sentiment reads...

Hugz... from here to there!

The little city scape and the remainder of the sentiment are both from the Neighborhoods stamp set. This set is just too cute!

I hope you'll take a moment and stop by the mSB blog today and check out what the rest of my fellow Design Team have created today! Happy stamping!

Playing in Paradise: Challenge #08

It's Friday! TGIF everyone!

This week is was my turn to inspire the rest of the Playing in Paradise Challenge Team and so I chose a beautiful bedroom scape. Here is what I chose:

I chose to use some of the colours of the image, the roses from the bed spread and romantic feel of the room as my inspiration for my card this week...

Greetings

All of the beautiful papers on my card are from the new Crate Paper, Portrait Collection. I also used some of the gorgeous collection's die cut accents.

My tiny little metal butterfly is a charm from the My Mind's Eye Stella Rose & Mabel Love Trinkets set. So fun to add to cards!

I also added a few silver Hero Arts gemstones to add a touch of sparkle!

I hope you'll take a moment and stop on by all of my fellow Challenge Team member blogs. Each one of them has designed a beautiful project using my inspiration this week:

Scrapbooker's Paradise Challenge #07

TGIF everyone!!! It's Friday! Here in BC we are just finishing up our first week of Spring Break and still looking forward to one more... HOORAY!

This week our super challenge comes from the lovely Dana! Dana's challenge to us this week was to take inspiration from her daughter's photo and use the colours navy blue, pink and green!

So this is what I came up using Dana's colours...

Thank You

My stamped image is from Flourishes, called Butterflies and Blossoms. I used a variety of fun Copic markers to colour in my image this week. I ALWAYS use Tsukineko's Black Tuxedo - Memento ink when using Copic markers. It NEVER bleeds.

All of the pretty paper I used on my card is from the Stella Rose collection of My Mind's Eye. I even embossed my little piece of white cardstock using a Provocraft Embossing folder; Polka Dots 5x7. Gotta love the added texture!

I also experimented with a few of my Spellbinder's dies too: Labels 9, Parisian Motifs Shapeabilities (...this set is NEW and is STUNNING!!).

Here's a quick closeup of my card details...

Neutrals and Paperwhites

I've been playing around with some primed canvas paper that painter's use as a base for their canvases. I found it in a multiple sheet pad form at Micheal's and thought that it would be great for cards and layouts too.

I wanted to play along with Flourishes' monthly Bring Back Beautiful challenge (to use neutral colours) and their Cut Above the Rest challenge (to use a cut edge) so I thought I would combine my card to meet both challenges today.

Neutral Paperwhites

supplies: stamps, Flourishes, Papertrey Ink; patterned papers, Bo Bunny; primed canvas paper, Fredrix; die cut shape, Spellbinders; butterfly charm, My Mind's Eye; inks, Ranger, Memento, Copic; brads, BasicGrey; lace, Hero Arts; cardstock, Bazzill; other, thread.

I started by die cutting a piece of the canvas paper using my Spellbinders shape and then stamping the paperwhites flower image by Flourishes right onto the masked canvas paper. I carefully coloured in my image using my Copic markers. I stamped the script by Papertrey Ink over top of my entire coloured image to tone the background down a bit.

I hope you too get a chance to play along! I just love the Flourishes challenges!

Scrapbooker's Paradise Challenge #06

This week's challenge is from the lovely Allison. Her challenge this week over at the Scrapbooker's Paradise blog, is a sketch challenge. You can choose either her card sketch...

... or her layout challenge this week. It's your choice!

I chose to use Allison's card sketch and created this fun card...

Take Care

The fun image on my card is from Stampavie and it's called "Ruffles Get Well Soon". You can see more super cute Ruffles stamps here at Scrapbooker's Paradise.

I used some fun mini striped cardstock from Doodlebug Designs called "Petite Prints". I used the Limeade: Daisy-Stripe and the Bubblegum: Daisy-Stripe.

My ribbon is a self-adhesive Hero Arts white lace. I layered over some embossed Bazzil Basics cardstock; here. I used a Provocraft Cuttle embossing folder to add the embossed detail to my cardstock strip. A few edge punches were used too including Martha Stewart's Scallop Dot Edge punch.

Last but not least a used a variety of Copic Markers to colour in my image. You can find every colour under the rainbow in these markers and there's nothing better than sitting down and just colouring an image to relax!

Check out what the rest of my fellow Challenge Team members did with Allison's sketch this week:
