Power Poppy: Introducing... Under Glass & a Blog Hop

Happy Sunday everyone!  Today is the final day of our “Abundance” collection Sneak Peeks!  Yup… we’ve had 5 new and super detailed beauties come into the Power Poppy shop.

Our Power Poppy final stamp set is…. (drum roll please!)….Under Glass”!

The concept for this stamp set is that these are all vignettes that can work on their own OR under the glass dome (also called a cloche), which is a super old time way to keep plants warm in chilly temperatures, but is now a hugely popular design trend for displaying cute stuff!!

I just HAD to use the nautical vignette because it would totally fit into my home decor.

And here’s a close up of my Copic colouring of my cloche.  I used some white gel pen to achieve some of the highlights on the glass.
COPICS: Coffee Pot: W0, W2, R08, R14, B97  Sand/Shellfish: E00, E31, E33, E34, E35, Y23, Y32, YR12

Power Poppy: Introducing... Tree of Life!

It’s Day 3 of our amazing “Abundance” clear stamp collection sneak peeks for Power Poppy!

Introducing… “Tree of Life”!

Marcella is forever enchanted by depictions and renditions of the Tree of Life. From branchy and reaching for the stars to small, curvy, and stylized, to what she has attempted, a richly robust tree fully leafed out, fruited, and flowered all at once. This stamp collection contains birds perched among the branches and a squirrel is available to sit beneath. Awwww!!!

I am in love with this unbelievable tree stamp and all the cool details so I wanted to use the entire tree on my card front.  I designed a card that’s a little bigger than my typical A2 sized card (4 1/4” x 5 1/2”).

And to make this an even MORE special card, I wanted to make my dear little bird fly over top of the tree. So here’s how I made that happen…

And again… no card is complete until it has some shimmer on it…

ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers:  Leaves: Lemon Yellow, Green Shadow, Emerald Green   Flowers: Yellow, Pink Flamingo, Orange, Carmine Red   Pomegranates:  Flesh Colour, Pink Flamingo, Carmine Red, Geranium Red   Doves:  Grey Tint, Warm Grey2, Shadow Mauve, English Lavender   Robins: Warm Grey 2, Grey Tint, Flesh Colour, Pale Dawn Grey, Beige, Dark Brown, Orange, Carmine Red, Yellow)

Let's see what my fellow Bloom Brigaders have created to showcase this new stamp set…

Power Poppy: Introducing... Pure Prairie Spirit

Howdy and welcome to day 2 of the “Abundance” collection at Power Poppy!

Introducing… Pure Prairie Spirit!

This new clear stamp set is meant to compliment the Pure Prairie Bouquet digital stamp.  It contains an updated design that allows you to use the butterflies wherever you'd like and has lots of sentiments for birthdays or a colourful hello.

For my card today, I wanted a very soft and muted card so I stuck with colouring my bouquet with only different shades of dusty pinks with a touch of yellow for their centers.
COPICS: Blooms: RV32, RV34, R85, RV17, R39, R81, R83, RV19, R56, Y02, Y17
Leaves: YG91, YG93, YG63, YG03 Wood grain: W2, W5, T3, T4, T6, C4, C5

I even created the faux wood grain back ground panel using just a ruler and some different tones of grey on a light grey cardstock.

I just adore the size of this amazing bouquet!

Power Poppy: Popping By to Say Hello!

Howdy all!  Happy Friday!  I had a busy July already with a trip to Nova Scotia with my Scout troop for 11 days and celebrating a 12th birthday for my son Spencer!  I was so happy to have a rest from creating and I’m back with a great creative mojo again – it was much needed.

I haven’t actually posted much this month so here’s a quick review for all those Power Poppy lovers out there!

First off, it’s my turn to host the monthly challenge for Power Poppy, the “Power & Spark Challenge”.  This month I’m asking you to COPY a Bloomie!  Click here to find out all the details!

Don’t forget to check out this month’s Hues to Use too!  These are photo inspiration pieces to get that creative mojo running using different colour combos.  Here’s a sneak of this month’s Hues to Use

And finally, I’m up on the blog Playing with Plastic this month!  Come on out and check out my Inspire Me Monday article where I go back to a fun childhood creative media… shrink plastic!  Find out more here!

Now, on to today…

I’m playing along with my own Power & Spark Challenge today and I’m copying my fabulously wonderful and big hearted friend, Tosha Leyendekker!  Today I’m CASEing this particular card.
It features the big beautiful bouquet of Ranunculus blooms form the “Dynamic Duos: Foxglove and Ranunculus”.  My simple greeting is from the “Poppies” stamp set.  I had fun colouring it with my Copic Markers yesterday.

Well, let’s check out what the rest of my fellow Bloomies have created to share with you today…
Allison Copeyou are here!

Thanks again for joining me today!  I hope you have an amazing and creative weekend!
