New Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Stuff

Howdy all!  I’ve been super busy lately with Scouty stuff.  I’m a leader for two of my local Scout aged groups (11-14 year olds) so I have lots of stuff to plan and do each week.  We’ve had 2 camps right in a row.  One Iron Scout camp for my Strathmore group – it was a cooking competition just like some of the cooking shows on TV.  Then I had our Winter Camp with my Bow Valley scouts last weekend.  We did some fun hiking, geocaching and of course, eating of s’mores from the campfire.  My Bow Valley group is almost done for the year but my local group still has about 2 months left of meetings and events planned.  I get to be a kid again!

So a few weeks back Kim Reid, the owner of Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps offered up 2 super secret kit options to chose from featuring new KKS products.  I ended up purchasing the second kit and it contained a brand new stamp set, “Magical Friends”, some cut patterned papers, some cardstocks, some fun embellishments and some awesome new hybrid black ink in the colour, “Wicked Black”.  And I have to say I REALLY like this ink!

Here’s the card I created with some of the items in the kit…

Here is a list of all the Copic Markers and Catherine Pooler Inks that I used…

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a great week!

Mermaid Wishes

Happy Friday all!  I’m off on another Scouting adventure this weekend.  We’re attending a cooking challenge camp this weekend and we’re sleeping in tents…. so… wish us some good, warm weather!

I needed a birthday card for a friend so I grabbed my “new-to-me” stamp set by MFT, “Mermazing” and my Copic Markers…
She actually moves up and down too!

I used this week's MFT Challenge sketch for my card design. Click here for the challenge.
Here's a peek at the inside...

A Masculine Sympathy Card

Hey guys!  I just found out that one of my best friend’s hubby’s lost his grandfather today so I thought I would quickly make a sympathy card to put in the mail this afternoon.

I chose to start with this beautiful and intricate “Stained Glass Coverplate” die from Catherine Pooler Designs and also her two fabulous grey cardstocks, “Smoke & Mirrors Cardstock” and her black cardstock, “Midnight Cardstock”.

So I cut the coverplate die using white, 2 shades of grey and also from black cardstock. Using a piece of light weight cardstock covered in adhesive, I laid the black outline down first and proceeded to place all of the greys & white cardstock pieces into the puzzle.  I just love the way it turned out…

Next I stamped the “thoughts” and “prayers” words from the “And Sentiments” stamp set using Versamark ink and then used white embossing powder to create an embossed sentiment strip.  I die cut the smaller ampersand from the “And Dies” from the light “Smoke & Mirrors Cardstock” and adhered it to the sentiment strips.

Before adhering my sentiment down I die cut some cute little leaves from the “Fallen Leaves Dies” and stuck them down first.

Can I tell ya, I’m quite smitten with this card?!!

Thanks again for stopping by to take a peak at one of my card creations!  I hope your day is going well!  See you soon!

A Teal-rific Day!

Happy Hump Day everyone!  I hope your week is going well.  Today I spent most of the day creating and editing video footage.

I needed to create a fun card for a friend using the colour teal for a challenge over at StampNation.  It needs to be in the mail ASAP so I thought I’d have some fun with my *new to me* My Favorite Things “You’re Super” stamp set.

I first created my water coloured back ground using Arches 140# watercolour cardstock and Catherine Pooler Designs inks; Aquatini, All That Jazz and Skylight.   I then used some Aquatini ink and the MFT “Radiating Rays” stencil to the watercolour back ground.

I stamped the cityscape with Black Jack ink and then stamped my little super girl and “boom” sentiment on white cardstock and coloured them using Copic Markers.

Plus… Catherine Pooler is retiring the Foundations Box. It contains 3 stamp sets, Spot On, Amazing Floral and For everything plus a grid etched acrylic block, 5 CP ink pads (Midnight, Rockin’ Red, Fiesta Blue, Orange Twist & Grass Skirt) and last but not least, 30 pre-scored A2 sized card based made with her amazing Premium White Cardstock.  I made a card and video showcasing this amazing box…

I had a ball creating today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Big Bouquets & Vitamin ME!

Happy Friday all!

It’s the first Friday of the month so our newest Power & Spark Challenge is up…. except this month it’s a little bit different!  Make sure to check out Marcella’s latest challenge for the month right HERE.  It’s an EASY one to play along with!

So today I decided to pull out the BIG guns… I mean … the BIG bouquets and have a go at a rather “messy” version of the spot light challenge.  I chose to use the large floral bouquets from “Pure Prairie Spirit” and “Burst of Kindness”.

I stamped out my entire panel first then I die cut the “SMILE” sentiment out.  Then I cut the large heart and then the 2 smaller hearts to create the initial back ground.

And here is a list of my Copic Markers that I used for colouring today.

Now…. go on and check out what my fellow Bloomies have created to share with you today…

A Late Easter Greeting!

Happy Wednesday all!  I’m just getting around to making some cards with some of the Easter critters I painted and coloured up this past week.

This fun little card is using the latest MFT Color Challenge as inspiration…

I couldn’t help stamping and colouring up these cuties from the new “Hoppy Friends” from My Favorite Things

I also used the Stitched Rectangles Dies, Surf and Turf dies (to make that little bunny jump up and down!), Grassy Edges and Rolling Hills dies.  I used the Mini Cloud Edges stencil to create my sky with Broken Chine Distress Oxide ink.

And here is the inside of my card…
Aren’t those chickies cute??

Thanks for stopping in for a visit!  See you soon!
